Beyond the Lip Line

BOB BEAUTÉ

MINIBAR

Three techniques with The Lipliner, and when to use each one.

1. Define and sculpt

Apply directly along the natural lip line with consistent pressure, slightly heavier at the Cupid's bow and centre of the lower lip, lighter at the corners where a hard edge reads as artificial. Trace twice, then blend inward slightly with a finger to remove any mechanical edge while keeping the shape. This is the foundation for wearing The Oil in Gloss on top, where the liner anchors the formula and adds depth underneath.

2. Blur for a full-lip effect

Skip the outline entirely. Apply colour directly to the lip like a lipstick and blend outward with a fingertip, slightly over the natural edge. The result is a diffused, petal-soft finish that adds the impression of volume through colour gradient. Done right, it looks like nothing was applied — just a better version of the lip. Works best with warmer tones: Front Desk, Minibar, Concierge.

3. Eye use

The Lipliner's formula is long-wearing and smooth — which makes it equally effective at the eye. Apply to the upper lash line as a precise liner, or use the blunt side to deposit colour on the lid and blend with a finger for a soft shadow. Because the shades are all lip-toned — nudes, mauves, quiet reds — the effect reads as tone-on-tone: skin that's been quietly intensified. The same shade on lip and eye simultaneously is a considered, editorial finish that needs almost nothing else.

Shade notes

Cooler tones (Roomservice) diffuse naturally and need less blending for a sheer result. Warmer tones (Front Desk, Minibar) build more opaquely — blend with more intention if you want sheer. Do Not Disturb is a full statement regardless of technique.
