The Gloss Layering Method
Words by BOB

More dimension. Less product. The difference is in how you apply it.
Start with The Lipliner
Apply The Lipliner first and blend the colour inward with a fingertip — no hard edges, just a wash of tone. This does two things: it anchors the gloss (oil formulas naturally want to slide, and wax-based liner keeps them in place), and adds depth underneath the shine. The result reads as dimensional rather than just wet.
Shade pairing
The liner and gloss don't need to match exactly — slightly different tones often read better. Mahogany gloss over Front Desk liner adds warmth without a full statement. Clear Mint over Minibar gives a sheer, cool finish. Velvet worn alone is bold enough — no liner needed, just apply from the centre outward to keep edges soft.
Application
Load the doe-foot lightly. One swipe from centre outward, then press lips together — don't rub. For more coverage, add a second coat to the centre only. This builds a subtle ombre effect that reads as volume.
Skin prep matters
If your lips are dry, the formula emphasises texture instead of smoothing it. Mist The Face Mist first, let it absorb for 30 seconds, then apply. The difference is immediate.
